Panadero Ilonggo: Roti

Curious about Roti? Let's find out what it is! According to my research on the internet, roti is an Indian flat bread made with stoneground wholemeal flour. It is usually eaten with cooked vegetables or curries and is a staple food to some countries. 

When I first saw Roti on Panadero Ilonggo's menu, I was a bit curious to what it was and wanted to find out what it tasted. Good thing the owner served us with roti and I get to taste it for myself. They served the roti with three dips namely garlic yogurt, babaganoush and hummus. Among the three dips, I like the hummus. I couldn't explain what it tasted like but I think it was the best among the three. In Panadero Ilonggo, they also serve roti as a dessert. They have three delicious roti desserts namely Roti I love you, Roti-Nana and Roti-Blue (not in the picture). These roti's are perfect for those who want to try something new and at the same time make your tummy happy! So come visit Panadero Ilonggo and tell me your roti experience!

Original Biscocho Haus: Choco Chip Blondies ala Mode

Last week, I was at Atria Park District for a lunch date with my college classmate/sister in Christ. After our healthy lunch, I wanted to eat something sweet because my sweet tooth was searching for a dessert to indulge. So I decided to visit Original Biscocho Haus because I heard from my sister that she ate something in there that is placed in a small wok. I was quite intrigued by that so I decided to try it myself. It's called Choco Chip Blondies ala Mode and priced at Php 110. It's indeed placed in a small wok and I find it cute and unique. My mouth was watering at the first sight of it and I think I could finish it all in just one sitting! Haha But I had to share it with my sister because sharing is loving just what Jesus had taught us. :)

Anyways, I really like this dessert because I like the texture of it. It's crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, just the way I like it. The vanilla ice cream really complemented the taste of the choco chip blondies. My sister would find it too sweet for her but for me it has just the right sweetness that can boost up your serotonins! Just by looking at these photos of mine makes me want to go back there again. Ugh! I'm so craving for this right now! Book Latte's Waffle

Double Chocolate with Strawberries

It was a hot Friday afternoon when my college classmate invited me to stroll at a mall. She then told me that she was going to treat us for a snack so I then suggested to eat at Book Latte. I've been seeing their Facebook page and I couldn't help but drool over those luscious waffles. So I tried this Double Chocolate waffle with strawberries. It's a two piece waffle with a slice of butter, chocolate chips, strawberries (not fresh) and with a drizzle of chocolate syrup. It's perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack paired with a hot cup of cocoa or your favorite drink. The only thing I don't like in this waffle is that the strawberries. I was expecting for fresh strawberries but they served canned ones.

Rainbow Slushies & Pretzel

Oh how I missed this freshly baked pretzel from Rainbow Slushies & Pretzel! Too bad they have already closed down. They were open for just a couple of months and I don't know what happened that they had never opened again. I was planning to try out all varieties of their pretzels because they really look mouthwatering especially for a sweet toothed person like me! Haha.. I can remember how my eyes grow big and my mouth drools every time I go there. I just wanna grab a bite to that crunchy in the outside but soft in the inside kind of pretzel. Now I won't be able to see those yummy pretzels again. (sad)  How I wish they would open up again.

Comma Cafe: A touch of Korea

My childhood friends/bestfriends/2nd cousins/sisters in Christ (there's a lot to name them! haha) and my twin (yes, I have a twin sister!) wanted to catch up with each other. It's been a year since our last group date though we always see each other at church! haha.. Anyways, we just wanted to eat out at a place something different and something new to our senses. Also, we wanted to bond with each other, have some updates with our lives and talk about anything under the rain! Too bad it was raining too hard when we get there but the good thing is we're the only customers in the first hour and the place was so cozy and peaceful. After that, a lot of customers started barging in the cafe and got a little bit noisy. To cut the story short, here are some photos of our get together. Enjoy..hope you won't drool over the pictures! (grin)

The unique thing about their belgian waffle is that they don't use baking soda. (I don't know why.)

You can opt to add a scoop of ice cream on your waffle for only 10 php.

According to my sister, this strawberry ade tastes like Kool-Aid juice.

This waffle has blueberry toppings with strawberry ice cream on top.

5 Grains smoothie is their best seller drink. The 5 grains are black beans, brown rice, barley cane, black rice & black sesame. It is good for diet, improves blood circulation, stomach strengthening, prevents hypertension, energy supplement and bone strengthening.

REVIEW

My overall experience is good and I would definitely go back there again. The place is cool, cozy and well ventilated. What's Korean with this cafe is that they serve some Korean dishes and the boy serving the food is a Korean! haha .. Their food is delicious especially their Bulgogi (Korean dish that usually consists of grilled marinated beef.) which is not on the photo. Though the only thing I would comment is with their serving time because it took a long time for the food to be served. So why don't you visit their place and tell me your Comma Cafe experience!
