What's New in Smallville?

It was my first time to visit Fuel.ph together with my sisters. We were invited by our close friend to try out the place because it has just recently opened. When I first came in, I had a homey feeling to the place. It was cozy, comfortable and a nice place to relax and have a good chat with your friends and loved ones. Fuel.ph is a great place to dine and enjoy a hot or cold sip of coffee. They serve meals, coffee and dessert. The Fuel.ph staff are also accommodating and friendly. Every Saturday they have an Open mic or Open floor night. It is a night where you can show your talents and have the opportunity to let your passion be seen and be heard!
According to their company overview in their facebook page, FUEL is a social enterprise that seeks to inspire people to pursue their purpose, encourage community and promote positive social and economic change.

My Version of Fried Cream Dory

The Pangasius, more popularly known as Cream Dory, is an air-breathing and edible freshwater fish. It is a good source of Omega-3 fatty Acids that prevents ailments like heart disease and blood clotting.

According to www.freshcatch.net, Cream Dory Fillet is known for its mild taste and white, flaky meat. Most feel the cream dory fish has a "cleaner" taste than most other forms of farm-raised fish, because of new water constantly flowing in to their pens. Cream Dori is widely known as basa, sutchi, and white river cobbler.

It was Sunday morning when I was planning on what will I cook for my lunch. I checked our refrigerator and found out a slice of cream dory left in the freezer. Then I thought of frying it my own version and here's my finished product! Just check out the images.

A Refreshing Way To Beat The Summer Heat!

Summer is about to end in the Philippines but before it all ends, I would like to make my review about their famous dessert "Halo-Halo". In beating this terrible heat we felt during summer time, we Filipinos would love to eat Halo-Halo. I consider it as the best remedy to cool down during a hot, humid summer day in the Philippines.
According to chowking.com, Halo-Halo is an appetizing mixture of sweetened ingredients arranged on a bed of snow ice with a generous serving of milk and topped with toasted pinipig, served in an elegant bowl with under liner. Can be topped with one or two scoops of delectable Cheese or Ube ice cream. Regular ( with 1 scoop Ice Cream ): P72.00  while Large ( with 1 scoop Ice Cream ): P105.00

It was one hot sizzling day that I decided to visit Chowking Atrium located in Iloilo City. I wanted to freshen up so, I decided to order a special halo-halo. Here are some images of the refreshing Halo-Halo.

This is what it looks like in their picture or in their poster.

 The actual Halo-Halo.

 REVIEW:

My order was special halo-halo with one scoop of ube ice cream that is worth P69.00. Wihtout the ice cream, it will be for P59.00. According to their official website, you could either choose Cheese or Ube ice cream as your topping but most of the time they would usually serve it with ube ice cream. I think it depends on the availability of the ice cream to some of the Chowking branches. When my order came, I was a bit disappointed. As what I see in their poster, the cup was full of ingredients on the top but when I saw it being served there were only few ingredients on top of it. Most of the ingredients were found below the crushed ice and I couldn't even taste the milk! So, I requested for an additional milk and that's free of charge. Even though presentation was not quite good, I still enjoyed eating my halo-halo. I'll definitely go back to this place again! Overall, Chowking's halo-halo is still the best!

Chicken Inasal @ Mang Inasal

It's been a long time that I haven't eaten at Mang Inasal. So, last Wednesday I decided to have my lunch there together with my mom and my sister. I ordered for their famous grilled chicken or what we call  "chicken inasal". It doesn't have a drink included in the meal but it was still worth it because you can eat as many rice as you want. Unlimited rice was Mang Inasal's trademark to attract more consumers. I waited for a maximum of fifteen minutes and my order was served. My mouth watered upon seeing the luscious chicken in front of me. Looking at the chicken made me more hungry so, I immediately took a bite of it. The chicken was so tasty and juicy. It has a little sweet taste but I balanced it with my concoction of soy sauce and calamansi (citrus fruit). It was a sumptuous meal and I really enjoyed eating at Mang Inasal.
