Nothing Beats Fibisco's Choco Mallows

Many countries has this kind of chocolate marshmallow treat and they would call it a lot of names. In the Philippines, one brand has stood up among all these years. It was Fibisco's Choco Mallows that had captured the hearts of Filipinos. Years have passed and Fibisco has never failed to satisfy us all. Their Choco Mallows is still the leading treat among people from all walks of life.

Fibisco's packaging of Choco Mallows had not changed through the years. They had maintained their unique yellow colored box that we Filipinos had known them for.

These were the choco mallows that were individually wrapped in foil.

Every time I took a bite of this soft chewy treat makes my serotonins (happy hormones) shoot up! Perfect for some lift me up moments.

The inside look of a choco mallow. As you can see, it has three parts: the cookie, the marshmallow and the chocolate coating.

REVIEW:
I like eating choco mallows when it's cold because it gives a distinct crack when I bite into it. The marshmallow is soft and chewy. The cookie base is tender. The chocolate coating is not too sweet and has the right sweetness. Choco Mallows is a perfect snack anytime, anywhere!

Getting Addicted to Merci's Napoleones

Some have heard it but some have not. So what is Napoleones?
Napoleones is a square layered puff pastry filled with custard cream and topped with white sugar glaze.

When it comes to Napoleones, the first thing that would cross my mind is Roli's Napoleones. It's a famous pastry shop in Bacolod City that is well known for their best tasting Napoleones. Every time my family and I would go to Bacolod, we would drop by at Roli's to have some of their napoleones as pasalubong. Lately, I find Roli's napoleones too sweet for me so I tried looking at other pasalubong or pastry shops if they were selling Napoleones. Luckily, I passed by a food stall and saw that they were selling Napoleones at a discounted price! I bought some and was surprised at how tasty and yummy it is. Now, I'm inlove with Merci's Napoleones!

A box of Napoleones contains 12 pieces which can be bought for 130 php.

Look at that mouth watering sugar glaze on top!

Bacolod's version of the French pastry "thousand leaves".

REVIEW:
What I like with Merci's Napoleones is it's not too sweet. The sugar glaze and the creamy custard filling compliments each other. The puff pastry is chewy and soft in consistency. The cool soft filling together with the sugar glaze melting in my mouth is heavenly. It has the right amount of sweetness that keeps you eating for more.

Cream Horn Pleasure

According to my research, Cream horns are sometimes called lady locks or clothespin cookies. They are  pastries that are made with puff pastry and filled with fruit or jam, custard, sweetened whipped cream or butter cream. They can be topped with fruit, candy sprinkles or sugar crystals.

Margec's Deli Cream horn is a pastry made with flaky or puffy pastry filled yellow custard. The pastry is crispy and the filling is sweet. The plastic container contains six pieces and you can purchase it for Php 98.00.

REVIEW:
The cream horn filling was a bit sweet for me. It tastes just like the filling of Brazos. What I like is the puff pastry because it's crisp and crunchy. It would have been better if there's whipped cream on top. With regards to the price, I find it expensive but it's perfect for pasalubongs and parties.
