KFC BBQ Shredder

Introducing KFC's newest meal..the BBQ Shredder! This 2013, KFC created something to offer Filipinos something new, fresh and exciting to our taste buds. The sandwich is a soft kaiser bun filled with chicken shreds drenched in a smoky barbecue sauce topped with fresh lettuce and crunchy tortilla tips. It costs Php 55 and Php 85 with fries and drink.

The actual sandwich

A few days ago, I was with my mom strolling in the city. We went to a mall and  waited for my father. While waiting we went to KFC and saw this new meal they had. I wanted to have a taste of it  and I was drooling at their photo from the counter so I ordered for it. I've been craving for beef strips drenched in barbecue sauce lately and luckily KFC has this kind of sandwich! I was so excited to have a bite of it that I didn't read the description below the photo of their new meal. The meat inside the sandwich was chicken shreds and not beef shreds but it still taste some what the same. The lettuce was fresh and crisp and there's a little tortilla chip inside. The sandwich was juicy and I love it! I would definitely order it again! :)

Pastel: Buns with Filling

It's the first week of January when my brother together with her wife and daughter went to Davao City, Philippines for a vacation. After 3 days they came home with pasalubongs. One of the pasalubongs they have was this buns with filling. It was the first time I saw this kind of buns with yema filling in it. I know its delicious because the yema filling mainly consists of eggs and condensed milk. I took a bite of the bun and the taste was heavenly! The filling was sweet and creamy. It would be perfect if paired with coffee. :)

Dinner @ Club 21

Carbonara

Nachos Grande

Hungarian & Bacon Pizza

It's the first friday of the year 2013 and my sisters and I head out to Club 21 to dine and chill. We ordered for their nachos grande and carbonara pizza but due to the waiter's misunderstanding, he delivered to us literally carbonara! So we decided to order for hungarian and bacon pizza instead than to wait for another hour waiting for the food to arrive! We had a taste of the food we ordered and among the three, the hungarian and bacon pizza wins my heart! The cheese is gooey and the crust is crisp. Their nachos grande is good too. It was topped with ground beef and drizzled with cheese and mayo sauce. Their carbonara wasn't that quite good to me. It wasn't creamy enough and I find it kinda sweet for my taste. I would probably go back for their pizza but I wouldn't invite my family there. They had poor service and the waiter was not listening attentively to the customers. :(

Calea: Pecan Pie

We were supposed to buy Calea's imported chocolate cake but when we arrived at their shop, all their chocolate cakes are almost gone. There were many people inside and outside the shop dying to eat Calea's cakes. We had no choice but to buy what's left of their fridge. We saw the pecan pie displayed and my aunt told us that it tastes delicious when paired with vanilla ice cream on top. We were convinced by our aunt's comment and so we bought it. It was new year's day when I had a slice of these mouth watering pie topped with vanilla ice cream. At first I find it too sweet but as I paired it with the ice cream, the sweetness was a bit neutralized as what my sister told me. She was right. The sweetness and the balanced taste of the ice cream went well together. I couldn't stop eating the pie especially the pecan nuts! It was all so good that you would get an insulin shot once you had a slice of this. Why don't you try it yourself and tell me your experience? :)

Felicia's Chocolate Cake

It was the last week of December 2012 that my family and I decided to visit our grandma before the new year starts. On our way home, we decided to pass by Calea to buy their famous imported chocolate cake for us to take home but when we arrived there, they ran out of stocks due to increasing public demand. My aunt then decided that we try Felicia's chocolate cake instead. So we head out to the pastry cafe and had their chocolate cake on our way home. We had the cake as our media noche for new year. At first i find the cake too sweet for me but then as days passed, I  find the sweetness just right for my taste buds. Although I find the cake a little bit dry but the filling tastes good. The cake costs around Php 800+ and the taste is worth your money. A thumbs up for me. :)
